The Blue Jackets are on a roll, coming into tonight's home game against Nashville as winners of eight of their last nine. They've played six straight overtime games, and seven of their last eight have gone past regulation. Sergei Bobrovsky appears to be in the zone, and he's coming off another stellar performance, stopping 39-of-41 shots in a 3-2 win over Chicago on Saturday.
Bobrovsky is 8-0-1 with a 2.01 GAA in December, and he will surely be up for tonight's game that features two of the league's top netminders. Pekka Rinne leads the NHL in wins, and isn't far off first in GAA and save percentage.
The Predators are one of the NHL's best defensive teams ranking second in the NHL allowing an average of just two goals per game. They've trended toward the under at a rate of 10-1-3 in their last 14 games versus teams with a losing record.
These two teams have played five straight unders, and eight of the last 10 meetings have failed to reach the total. Needless to say, it would be no surprise to see another goaltender's duel here in Columbus tonight.
