(MLB) Texas vs. Oakland, 04/07/2015 6:05 PM, Score: 3 - 1
Money Line: -154.00 Oakland (Home)
Result: Loss
This is an 8* play on the Oakland A's.

I bet on Oakland last night, and I am going to go right back to the well tonight. Why not? Texas was awful last season, they were awful this spring, and they certainly didn't impress much last night.

The Rangers hand the ball to Colby Lewis, who was lit up in spring training. The right-hander was 0-2 with a 9.74 ERA, surrendering 13 runs over 12 innings two appearances in the Cactus League. He was 1-0 with a 4.38 ERA against Oakland last year, but all three of the A's newcomers (Zobrist, Lawrie & Butler) have hit him hard in the past.

The A's hand the ball to Jesse Hahn, who looked quite sharp this spring. He was 1-2 with a 3.06 ERA in four starts, striking out 11 over 17.2 innings. His final start of the spring came against Texas, and he held the Rangers to one run over 5 1/3 innings.

Neither of these two starters are likely to go the distance, and there's a good chance each team will need it's bullpen to give them some innings. That doesn't bode well for the Rangers who had one of the worst bullpens in baseball last year. Four of the eight runs the A's scored last night were charged to Texas relief pitchers.

Take OAK.

GL,

Jesse Schule
