The Mariners have split the first two games of this series in Oakland, and they send their ace to the mound here in the rubber match. Felix Hernandez was a winner on Opening Day, and he comes in with excellent numbers in past meetings in this series.

Hernandez (1-0, 1.29 ERA) tossed seven strong innings, allowing one run on two hits while striking out 10 in a win over last year's AL West champs in his season debut. He was 4-0 with a 2.22 ERA in six starts versus Oakland last year, and he was also undefeated in day games, posting a record of 5-0 with a miniscule 1.37 ERA.

The A's hand the ball to Jesse Hahn, who lost his debut versus Texas. Hahn (0-1, 4.50 ERA) allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings in a 3-1 loss. He'll have to keep a close eye on Robinson Cano, who is 2-for-3 lifetime versus the 25 year old.

The Mariners paid big bucks for Nelson Cruz in the off-season, and he earned his keep last night going 3-for-5.
