The Angels opened the season by taking two of three from the Mariners in Seattle, before getting swept at home by Kansas City. The should be able to get back on track against Texas.

Matt Shoemaker will toe the slab for the Halos, and he picked up a win in his debut. The 28 year old allowed three runs on six hits while striking out five in six innings of work in a 5-3 win at Seattle. He was 16-4 with a 3.04 ERA last season, and he had good numbers versus Texas. He won all three of his starts against Texas, posting a 1.80 ERA in those games.

The Rangers will hand the ball to Ross Detwiler who was rocked in his Rangers debut. He gave up eight runs on 10 hits over just 4 1/3 innings in a loss at Oakland. He didn't look good this spring, and he's coming off a terrible 2014 season where he was 1-2 with a 5.61 ERA at home.

Making matters worse for the Rangers, they have some key injuries to Shin Soo Choo and Ryan Rua.
