This is an 8* play on the San Diego Padres.

The Padres host the Diamondbacks in the second game of a three game set at Petco Park. The Friars will be looking to avenge an 8-4 loss in the opening game last night, but they had won three straight prior to that.

Odrisamer Despaigne will toe the slab for the home team, replacing the injured Ian Kennedy. The 28 year old was a pretty good bet at home in 2014, going 3-1 with an 1.83 ERA. He also pitched well against Arizona, posting an ERA under 3.00 in four starts.

The D'Backs hand the ball to Jeremy Hellickson, who really got rocked in his 2015 debut. The 28 year old surrendered three runs on nine hits and a pair of walks over 4 1/3 innings, losing 5-2 to San Francisco. He didn't pitch well this spring either, and the rumors out of the D'Backs camp is that his spot in the starting rotation is in danger.

San Diego has an improved lineup, with a far better bullpen, and should be worth the price tonight.
