The Yankees have their work cut out for them as they try to hold off the Blue Jays in the AL East. After losing three of four at home to the Tribe, they now trail Toronto by a half game in the standings. I like their chances of bouncing back tonight against an Astros team that has lost nine of it's last 11 on the road.
Scott Feldman will toe the slab for the visitors, and he's pitched quite well lately. The 32 year old is the weakest link in a strong Houston pitching staff though, and he's in a tough spot here in the Bronx. He's been hit hard by the Yankees in the past, as the New York lineup is hitting for a .290 average with seven home runs over 131 at bats. Chase Headley is 5-for-10 with a home run against him.
The Yankees hand the ball to Nate Eovaldi, who is 8-10 with a 3.29 ERA in his last 11 starts. Eovaldi (13-2, 4.24 ERA) allowed three runs on four hits, striking out eight in seven innings in a home win over Minnesota his last time out.
The Astros are batting just .222 in August, and only the Angels have scored fewer runs this month.
