The Rangers have extended their lead in the AL West to three games ahead of Houston after back to back wins in Oakland. I like Texas to complete the sweep here in Oakland in the series finale.
Cole Hamels will toe the rubber for the Rangers, and he's won seven straight. Hamels (10-8, 3.67 ERA) allowed one run on seven hits, striking out a dozen in a 10-1 win over Seattle his last time out. He's 5-1 with a 3.74 ERA in his last 11 starts.
Oakland will hand the ball to Chris Bassitt, who only has one win in 10 starts this season. The rookie right-hander gave up four runs on seven hits and four walks over 4 1/3 innings in an 8-2 loss to the Mariners his last time out. He's 0-3 with a 3.33 ERA in five starts in day games, and he gave up a pair of runs in one inning of relief against the Rangers earlier this year.
The A's will have to hope that Bassitt can go deep into the game, because they own the worst bullpen in the American League, with a 4.57 ERA among relievers.
