The Angels appeared to be down and out a few weeks ago, but after winning eight of their last 10, they are just a half game back of Houston for the final Wild Card spot in the American League. I like LA at home against Oakland tonight.
Hector Santiago will toe the slab for the home team, and he's undefeated in his last four starts. Santiago (9-9, 3.47 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on four hits over five innings in a 4-3 win at Houston his last time out. He's been very good at home, going 4-2 with a 2.53 ERA in 16 starts.
The A's hand the ball to Felix Doubront, who has lost two of his last three starts. Doubront (3-3, 5.53 ERA) was torched for seven runs on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings in a loss to Texas his last time out.
