This is an 8* play on the Anaheim Ducks.

The Anaheim Ducks pressured the eventual Stanley Cup Champions Chicago to seven games in last season's Western Conference final and are one of the favorites to lift the cup this season. They did not look anything of the sorts in a 2-0 loss at San Jose Saturday though, but we should expect them to come up with a strong performance against the Vancouver Canucks Monday night.

The Nucks won 5-1 at Calgary on opening night but suffered a 3-2 overtime home-loss to the Flames Saturday in a game where they were outshot 38-30. They've won just two of the last 11 head-to-head meetings with the Rubber Duckies and their goaltender Ryan Miller has a 4.12 GAA while going 0-2-1 in his last three starts against the Ducks.

Anaheim's Fredrik Andersen meanwhile has good career record of 6-1-1 with a 1.22 GAA against the Canucks. He can certainly not be blamed for their loss at the Shark Tank in their season-debut as he made 42 saves for a .955 SV%. The Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau seems to know what went wrong: "We know how hard we have to work. It's a game where they worked from beginning to end. We had spots where we were gliding. We can't afford to do that."

The Ducks are a much more talented team and will be urged on by both Boudreau and the demanding home-fans. The Canucks are 1-5 in their last six road games and another loss is imminent.

Take ANA.
