The Dallas Stars have started the season with seven wins and just two losses. They defeated the Ducks 4-3 two days ago and I think they're in for an easier win when hosting the Vancouver Canucks Thursday night.
Vancouver wrapped up a five-game homestand by handing the Canadiens their first loss of the season, but they had lost four straight prior. They've lost seven straight meetings with the Stars, four of those here in Texas. Ryan Miller made 25 saves against Montreal Tuesday but he's 0-4-1 with a 4.35 GAA in his last five matchups against the Stars.
Dallas has shared goaltending duties between Kari Lehtonen and Antti Niemi so far this season and both have done well between the pipes. Antti Niemi started the last game, so we could see Kari Lehtonen in the crease for this contest, and the Fin owns a 1.42 GAA in winning seven straight starts against Vancouver.
One of few bright spots in recent games for the Nucks have been their penalty kill unit which has killed off 14 of 16 chances over the last five games. It'll be put to the test by the Stars top rated power play here though, and I don't see them riding out this storm.
