This is an 8* play on the Seattle Mariners.

The Mariners were on the wrong end of a 3-0 sweep in their series at Texas over the weekend. They host the first place Rangers in Game 1 of a home series Friday, and I like Seattle in this revenge spot.

Hisashi Iwakuma will toe the slab for the Mariners, and he's always pitched well against Texas. Iwakuma (4-5, 4.13 ERA) allowed three runs on four hits, striking out seven in seven innings in a loss at Arlington his last time out. Two of those runs were unearned, and prior to that game he was 7-1 with a 2.87 ERA in 10 starts versus the Rangers.

Texas will hand the ball to Derek Holland, who has shut the Mariners down twice already this season. Holland (5-4, 4.53 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on three hits and two walks over six innings in the 3-2 win opposite Iwakuma. He hasn't always been successful against the Mariners though, as Seattle is batting a combined .292 in 226 at bats versus the southpaw.

Robby Cano owns Holland, batting .372 with a pair of home runs and nine RBIs lifetime.
