The Florida Panthers are coming to St. Louis as winners of four of their last six. St. Louis on the other hand has lost two of it's last three, and the Blues found themselves trailing 3-0 against the Islanders Saturday before coming back to win the game 6-4. A Panthers win isn't that far-fetched, but I'm confident they will keep it a close game and that a play on the puckline is the best option.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. The Panthers Recent Games - Seven of the Panthers last eight have been decided by one goal, with three of the games going past regulation. It's not like they've only faced poor teams either, as aforementioned games includes tricky visits at Nashville, San Jose and Detroit of which the Panthers stood victorious twice.

2. The Blues Defense - St. Louis D ranks near the top of the league, but looking at the way they've played lately you wouldn't believe it. They've conceded four goals in each of their last three games, with tonight's starting goalie Martin Brodeur allowing five on 39 shots. The 42 year old will make his first start as a Blues in Scottrade Center here, and I'm not so sure he will enjoy any kind of home ice advantage just yet.

3. X-Factor - The Panthers rookie Aaron Ekblad assisted all of Florida's three goals in Saturday's 3-2 win against the Sabres. The 18 year old is leading the NHL for December with his four assists and six points.
