The Dodgers have blown leads in back-to-back home losses, but still they come in as heavy favorites at home against Colorado tonight. The price is enormous with the Dodgers turning to their ace here tonight, but Kershaw has been pretty average so far.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - Kershaw (1-2, 4.26 ERA) allowed five runs on eight hits and four walks over 5.2 innings in a no decision versus the Rockies in his most recent outing. It was the second time he faced Colorado this season, and he wasn't exactly flawless in the first meeting, giving up a couple home runs in a win at home. The Rockies counter with Eddie Butler, who's faced the Dodgers twice as well, allowing fewer runs and fewer hits that Kershaw in those two games.
2. Line Value - The Dodgers are a 3-1 favorite tonight, despite the fact that they have lost more games than they've won when Kershaw starts this season (3-4).
3. X-Factor - Troy Tulowitzki has faced Kershaw more than any other player in the Rockies lineup and he's hit .259 with three home runs and eight RBIs in 58 career at bats.
