8* SURE SHOT on San Jose Sharks.
Both the Nashville Predators and the San Jose Sharks entered their Quarterfinals series as underdogs, but they managed to record upsets against the Ducks and the Kings respectively. The Sharks impressed as they took down the Kings in five games, and I think they'll defeat the Predators will come up short in this contest.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Rest - The Sharks have had plenty of time to prepare and rest with a week passing since a 6-3 win at LA last Friday. The Predators on the other hand are coming off a full seven-game series against Anaheim and punched their ticket to the next round with a grueling 2-1 win at Anaheim only two days ago. They won't even have time for a full practice before Game 1 begins.
2. Special Teams - The Sharks had the third most efficient power play unit during the regular season and it was 5-for-21 on the man advantage in the last round. The Preds gave up a power play goal in each of their last three games against Anaheim.
3. X-Factor - The home team is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings.
