They are arguably the best team in baseball and I won't hesitate to step in with the Cards in a rare underdog role on Friday. These teams recently met and these pitchers actually matched up in one of the games in that series. It was all the Cubs and Haren in that game as the Cardinals and Lynn faltered. Historically when this happens and then there is a rematch soon after, the roles often do reverse and I expect the Cubs and Haren to be on the wrong end of the beating this afternoon. Haren got rocked by the league-worst Phillies in his most recent start and that is certainly not a good sign for Cubs fans. As for Lynn, he has allowed just 3 earned runs on 10 hits in the 13 innings spanning his last two road starts. Look for another big effort away from home this afternoon.
