The Minnesota Twins took a 6-5 loss here at Kansas City Friday night but had won nine of 12 leading up to the All Star break. Note that the Royals still have dropped 13 of their last 16 despite yesterday's win, and I fully expect the Twins to bounce back with a big game tonight.
The Twins will start right-hander Lance Lynn (7-7, 5.22 ERA) who has won two straight starts while allowing four runs through 11 innings of work. He's 2-0 with a 4.09 ERA, allowing five earned runs in 11 innings, in two starts this season against the Royals.
The Royals turn to right-hander Jakob Junis (5-10, 5.13 ERA) who will make his first start since July 2. He went on the DL on July 8 with lower back inflammation, has lost seven straight straight starts, served up a dozen homers through his last five starts and and allowed a major league-leading 24 home runs on the season.
