The St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Marlins have split the first two games of this series, with the Fish claiming Monday's matchup 2-1 and the Cards winning 3-2 on Tuesday. I think it's an easy call to go with the visiting Cardinals here in the series finale with Miami losing seven of its last eight games.

Miami hands the ball to Trevor Richards (3-6, 3.92 ERA) who has posted a brilliant 0.76 ERA through his last four starts, but the Marlins are still just 2-2 in those four games. Right-hander John Gant (3-4, 4.12 ERA) will take the ball for the Cards. Gant may have been tagged with six runs in four innings at Pittsburgh on August 3 his last time out, but he posted a solid 3.51 ERA in six appearances (four starts) in July.

Richards faced the Cardinals on June 7, allowing three runs and seven hits in five innings while this will be Gant's first start against the Marlins.
