MLB 3-Pack
(MLB) Oakland vs. Houston, 07/08/2016 4:10 PM, Score: 9 - 10
Money Line: -156.00 Houston (Home)
Result: Win
Play: Houston Astros
Rating: 8*

The Oakland Athletics had lost five straight meetings at Minute Maid Park prior to a 3-1 win last night. The victory was the A's mere second in their past eight games overall, and I think they'll be back to their losing ways tonight.

The Astros have won seven of their past nine and send Collin McHugh (5-6, 4.50 ERA) to the mound for Friday's contest. He's held four straight opponents to two runs or fewer and he's 4-1 with a 3.23 ERA in his career against the Athletics, a mark that includes six starts. Current Oakland hitters are batting a combined .202 with 31 strikeouts over 114 at bats against the right-hander.

Daniel Mengden (1-4, 3.48 ERA) takes the ball for the A's. This will mark his sixth start of his career, and the 23 year old is coming off his worst so far when he was tagged with four runs on seven hits and four walks in 5 1/3 innings of a 6-3 loss against the Pirates.

Astros are 20-6 in their last 26 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. Astros are 24-7 in McHugh's last 31 home starts and 4-0 in McHugh's last four home starts vs. Athletics.
