Result: Loss
Play: Colorado Rockies
Rating: 8*

The Colorado Rockies were embarrassed in a 10-1 defeat to the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. I fully expect the Rockies to bounce back with a win Wednesday afternoon.

Chris Archer (4-13, 4.68 ERA) takes the ball for the Rays. The Tampa Bay ace has been struggling all season long and the Rays have lost each of his last seven starts. Archer has allowed a total of nine runs on 14 hits with three homers covering 13 1/3 innings in his last two starts combined. He's 3-6 with a bloated 6.75 ERA in 10 road starts on the year.

The Rockies turn to Jorge De La Rosa (6-6, 5.50 ERA) who has been very solid lately. He was sent to the bullpen after a poor start to the season but has gone 5-2 with a 2.14 ERA through his last seven outings. The left-hander is 4-2 with a 4.41 ERA and a .233 BAA home at Coors Field, quite impressive numbers considering the ballpark. We can also note that De La Rosa is 3-0 with a minuscule 1.93 ERA in four outings (two starts) during the day this year.

Rays are 2-9 in their last 11 interleague road games vs. a left-handed starter, Rockies are 27-9 in De La Rosa's last 36 home starts vs. a team with a losing record.
