The Los Angeles Angels handed the Kansas City Royals their worst home loss since 2002 in a 13-0 shellacking on Tuesday. I like the Royals to bounce back tonight behind Danny Duffy.
Duffy (6-1, 3.14) has been the Royals most dependable starter lately in winning each of his past five decisions. Duffy held the dangerous Rangers to one run on four hits in 6 2/3 innings of work his last time out.
The Halos turn to Matt Shoemaker (5-10, 3.99 ERA). He's 3-6 with a 4.74 ERA in 10 road starts this season and he has been torched in three career meetings with the Royals, going 0-2 with a 13.50 ERA and .464 BAA through just 10 2/3 innings. Salvador Perez (6-for-8) has given him the most trouble.
Angels are 7-23 in their last 30 games vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15, and I think they'll struggle the plate after yesterday's explosion when they equaled a season high with 22 hits.
