This is going to be a consistent theme for me this week: putting money on teams that the public is against or teams that have been left for dead. The story on the Lions is clear: this team is fading fast and is coming back to earth. I'm not buying into that. Sure, they have been turning the ball over too much. But five of their last eight games have been on the road - including in back-to-back weeks - and this team is going to get a big boost from playing in front of its home crowd. I love that this is a standalone, primetime game and I think Detroit is going to max out here. If anyone is due to come back to reality it is Denver, a team that has won six of seven. Three of their wins during this stretch have come by two points or less and last week they benefitted from Justin Herbert getting injured (and facing Brandon Staley). I think the Detroit defense will get a big bump from the home crowd and the offense will do its thing.
