Unfortunately for Sonny Gray, not every month has been April, when he spun a 1.16 ERA across four starts for the Cards. Gray has been steadily weakening since, to the point his July numbers dipped alarmingly (6.75 ERA in four starts this past month). Included was a home loss at Busch to the Cubs on July 12. Now he gets to face a Chicago lineup full of confidence after blasting out 13 runs in Cincy last night, and Shota Imanaga has posted much better numbers lately (such as a 2.55 ERA in July) than Gray.
