A's at White Sox
(MLB) Athletics (OAK) vs. White Sox (CWS),
Money Line: -124.00 Athletics (OAK) (Away)
Result: Win
What has us excited here is a chance to go against the lowly Chisox while getting a fair price and without having to lay an extra run. This won't be a bullpen game for the A's, as after three relief appearances earlier in spring, recently-activated Brady Basso took his turn in the rotation last Saturday vs. the Tigers and spun six innings of three-hit, shutout work. Note, too, Oakland is 28-22 since just before the All-Star break, which over that span would be good enough to get the A's in the playoffs. We don't have to remind of the woes of the Pale Hose, closing in on the modern day record for losses as they sit 33-114 (33-114!) into tonight. Garrett Crochet is also barely more than an opener these days for the Sox and had maybe his worst effort of 204 in his last start, which lasted just 2 innings vs. the Bosox last Sunday, allowing four runs and five hits (including a homer) in an eventual 7-5 loss.
