Hockey Club at Bruins
(NHL) Hockey Club (UTA) vs. Bruins (BOS),
Point Spread: -1.50 | 180.00 Bruins (BOS) (Home)
Result: Loss
We usually get few bites at this apple each season so don't want to miss our chance. The "coaching change bounce" has resonated at various times in the past and gets another test with the Bruins, who just forced Jim Montgomery to walk the plank earlier this week. Clearly an example of a good team underachieving here, as the sum of the Boston parts suggests the Bs should be doing much better than 19 points in their first 20 games. The core of the team is still similar to those of the past two seasons, including the record-setting side of 2022-23, though Brad Marchand has not been producing as usual and David Pastrnak was even benched earlier this month. Work in goal has also waned, especially from Jeremy Swayman, has not delivered the way he did a year ago, especially the postseason. Swayman, a training camp holdout, won't even be in the lineup tonight as interim Joe Sacco apparently goes with Joonas Korpisalo, who has posted better numbers (2.74 GAA, .901 saves), albeit in fewer games, than Swayman this season. But it's the "coaching change bounce" that has us truly excited for this one at TD Garden. Play Bruins on Puck Line
