SMU at Virginia
(NCAAF) Mustangs (SMU) vs. Cavaliers (UVA),
Point Spread: 10.50 | -118.00 Cavaliers (UVA) (Home)
Result: Loss
We saw it again at various locales last week...it's not easy being a ranked team laying hefty points on the road in November. Especially when the home team is more than a bit competent. We wonder, too, if the collar is getting a bit tight around the Mustangs, who ended up in quite a struggle with a Boston College side with a QB who had played very little all season. More and more, Rhett Lashlee's squad is counting upon QB Kevin Jennings to bail it out, and extending margins is not always as easy this time of the season. Note that Virginia has displayed a knack of coming in the backdoor (witness recent spread covers at Clemson and Notre Dame) with backup QB Tony Muskett, but the canvas of work the past two seasons shows the Wahoos 11-2 ad a dog and 15-6-1 vs. the line for Tony Elliott since the start of last season.
