Risky perhaps sticking our necks out again with the Rangers, who haven't justified much support in recent weeks, losing six of their last seven games.
Defense has been an issue for the past month and to that end perhaps the four days between games (their longest break of the season) since the humbling 5-1 Monday loss to the Devils will serve as a proper inflection point and wake-up call for tonight. Igor Shesterkin, winless in his last five starts, is certainly better in goal than he has shown the past month and gets another chance tonight before Jonathan Quick likely gets the call on Sunday vs. the Kraken at MSG. Surprised that the Penguins have won four straight and can actually leapfrog the Rangers in the Metropolitan Division standings tonight, but this is also the same matchup the Rangers dominated 6-0 at PPG Paints Arena on opening night, October 9.
