VPI has been in tough already, but this hardly looks a vintage Hokies side. With six losses on the spin, it also doesn't look like the sort of team to be laying a mid-teens price. The offense is struggling, especially with long-range shooting that has routinely been in the 35-40% range in recent years; thus far, only 31%, not what we're used to seeing from Mike Young teams. VPI also doesn't have a guard scoring in double-digits, and top scorer F Toibu Lawal (via VCU) is only netting 11.9 ppg. Meanwhile, though NC A&T figures to finish up the track in the Coastal, the Aggies are not helpless, usually within earshot in their six losses to date, 4-2 vs. the spread away, and with an apparent edge in the backcourt with Gs Ryan Forrest (via NW State; 19.9 ppg), returnee Landon Glasper (17.6 ppg), and Jahnathan Lamothe (via-Maryland; 12.3 ppg).
