Not a bad start for Ruud Van Nistelrooy behind the bench at Leicester, undefeated in two starts. Both matches have been at the King Power Stadium and goals are flowing (five in two games) but it was the manner in which the Foxes pulled out that 2-2 draw last weekend vs. Brighton & Hove Albion, scoring twice after being down 2-0 into the 86th minute, and the second consecutive match that old hand Jamie Vardy has scored a goal. This has been some unexpected good news for Leicester after the dismissal of Steve Cooper in late November proved a bit of a shock, but with four points from two matches, Van Nistelrooy has pulled the Foxes five points clear of the drop zone and level with Everton at 15th. Meanwhile the disappointments continue for Eddie Howe and Newcastle, as the Magpies can't seem to find a second gear, wallowing in 12th pace and winless in four, leaking ten goals during that recent downturn.
