The big East underdog trend continued last night as Providence pushed St John's into the final seconds, and both of these sides were involved, and both of these sides at Hinkle Fieldhouse this afternoon were involved in underdog-flavored battles earlier this week. Butler showed well at 14-point favorite Marquette, leading into the second half and keeping within the spread down the stretch. The Golden Eagles had to play near error-free (only two turnovers) to stay clear, and note how Tulane transfer G Kolby King is starting to deliver, scoring double digits in two straight to complement punishing frontliners Jaymyl Telfort (16.2 ppg) & Pierre Brooks (15.2 ppg). Granted, Dan Hurley's Huskies haven't lost since Maui three weeks ago, but the bench is becoming increasingly conspicuous by its lack of production, and UConn can ill afford significant foul trouble if it wants to extend a margin these days.
