Man City at Aston Villa
(EPL) (MCI) vs. (AV),
Point Spread: 0.50 | -129.00 (AV) (Home)
Result: Win
We keep waiting for Man City top flip the switch...but maybe it's not going to happen. Only one win in eleven, each successive loss more shambolic than the previous, which has us justifiably wondering if maybe City didn't hit bottom last Sunday when kicking away that late lead vs. Man United. Pep Guardiola seems unable to find the right answers, though it is becoming apparent that this is more than Rodri being out with injury; the likes of Kevin DeBruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, and Kyle Walker, linchpins for several seasons, have all lost a step or two that can't be regained. Add on top of that some very unsure work in goal (neither Ederson nor Ortega looking steady), and the fact Erling Haaalnd (being effectively marked out of recent matches; as Simone Inzaghi laid out the road map in the 2023 Champs League final with inter 18 months ago)) does nothing for the team when he's not scoring goals, and a recipe for a steep decline is apparent. Now, can Villa, which is cruising in the Champions League (something City isn't), get a result at Villa Park? Play Aston Villa on Spread
