It might be a break for the Caps to get the Oilers minus Connor McDavid, who begins a three-game suspension tonight. The Caps might not need any help as they have won five in a row, but what really jumps out is the current six-game "under" streak (just six algls allowed that span), roughly coinciding with great recent work from GK Logan Thompson, whose January numbers are out of sight, including a 1.48 GAA and .964 saves in six starts. He's save 170 of 180 shots this month. No fluke, either, Thompson posted a 1.86 GAA d .931 saves in seven December starts.
