All of a sudden, things are looking better for the Rangers, specially the past couple of weeks since GK Igor Shesterkin returned to active duty. In his five starts since January 9, the Rangers are 4-0-1, with Shesterkin posting solid numbers (1.72 GAA, .934 saves). This after a stunning cold snap from late November thru December in which the Rangers lost in 11 of his 14 starts. With improving defense, New York seems to have revived its playoff hopes in recent weeks, as has Ottawa, though the Sens are doing it lately with minimal offense, scoring just 20 goals across the past 10 games.
