T.M. Selection: Detroit Tigers.

I like the Detroit Tigers to win this game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday. The Tigers haven'y looked good in their games lately but they have played their 2 most recent series on the road and I think they are going to bounce back here now that they are back at home. They have looked great at home this year and the Rays haven't looked good in their games lately, losing 4/6 of their previous 6 games but not producing much offense in those games. Jeffrey Springs (3-3, 2.70 ERA) is up for the Rays here and he has looked good in his starts all year but he has started to look shaky lately and I think the Tigers can put some runs up on him here. He has given up 3+ runs in 3/4 of their previous 4 games and this Tigers offense has looked a lot better in their own ballpark this year. Drew Hutchison (1-4, 4.53 ERA) is up for the Tigers here and he has been giving up some runs lately but he just bounced back with a nice start in his most recent one and I think he can extend that performance into this game with the Rays lineup hitting the way it has been. The Rays have one of the worst offenses in the league this year and they haven't been putting up many runs in their games lately. The Tigers can score runs at home here and I think the Rays offense will be their downfall in this game. I like the Tigers to win this game.
