Pirates over Cubs- These two clubs have both had their best season in years and ended just one-game apart in the standings with the Pirates winning out for the home field. This is the third straight year that the Pirates are in the N.L. Wild Card game and I believe that experience accounts for something as does the home filed where Pittsburgh is 53-28 on the season. Granted the Cubs will start Jake Arrieta (22-6, 1.77 ERA) who has been phenomenal the second half going 12-1 with a 0.75 ERA and has allowed just six hits and only one walk while striking out 27 in his last 22 innings and is 6-1 lifetime against the Pirates. Pittsburgh starter Gerrit Cole (19-8, 2.60) has won his last three starts and is 7-1 with a 2.88 ERA lifetime against the Cubs with 32 strike outs in just 25 2/3 innings this season. Take PITTSBURGH!
