Mets over Marlins- Two clubs that started the season hoping to finish at the .500 level clash in August with the Mets 10-games under the break-even mark while the surprising Marlins are just two games (67-69) under. New York who have been terrible on defense the entire season committed six errors yesterday and by all professional standards should be embarrassed and enter today's contest with an attitude of redemption. Miami will start Brad Penny (1-0, 5.40 ERA) who is making his third appearance since 2012 on the mound after a two year 'retirement.' He is believe it or not just 5-13 with a 6.25 ERA lifetime against the Mets. Johnathon Niese (7-10, 3.48) starting for New York is 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA in three starts in Marlins Park. Take the METS!
