This is a 10* IL PLAY OF THE MONTH on the San Fran Giants.
Yes, the A's are 13-6 and the Giants are 8-12, but I think Oakland is vastly over-priced here.
Frankie Montas (2-1, 1.57 ERA) has never faced the Giants, while Johnny Cueto (1-0, 5.40) is very familiar with Oakland.
Cueto looked great in his last start, losing his no hit bid in the sixth inning after Hunter Pence muffed an easy catch. Cueto earned the win though allowing just two hits over six frames.
Cueto is 1-0 with 2.57 ERA in two lifetime starts vs. the A's.
Montas was dominant in a road win vs. the lowly Mariners, but I think he'll struggle in this difficult road venue.
The home side won't be lacking for motivation here. Neither will Cueto. The value is on the GIANTS in this matchup!
