This is a 10* BLOWOUT OF THE WEEK on the Philadelphia Phillies.
Jake Arrieta (3-4, 5.67 ERA) hasn't had the best year for the Phillies this season, but he's coming off his best start of the campaign this past Friday, going seven innings vs. the Mets, allowing two runs and a walk and striking out a season-high seven batters.
Arrieta has to be feeling confident here, as he's 6-1 with a 3.40 ERA in seven career starts at Marlins Park and 8-1 with a 3.55 ERA in 11 overall starts vs. the Fish.
The Phillies have the fourth ranked offense in the majors, averaging 5.31 RPG. The Marlins' offense is ranked 23rd in averaging 4.32.
Sandy Alcantara (2-1, 3.78) beat the Phillies 5-2 on Opening Day and while he's had considerable success against Philadelphia in the past, I think he's in the wrong place at the wrong time here (ironically as well, note that Alcantara has 3.44 ERA in 26 appearances on the road, compared to a 4.26 ERA in 23 games at home.)
Both bullpens are a disaster, so let's call that area a "wash."
I like Arrieta and the Phillies' offense to dominate in Game 1 of this important seven game series.
