This is an 8* CUSTOMER APPRECIATION TOTAL on the UNDER Rays/Jays.
The Rays have lost six of their last ten, including two in a row. They'll be eager to return to their winning ways here after yesterday's 8-1 beatdown loss at the hands of the surging Jays.
Toronto is for sure the hottest team in MLB. At some point the Jays are going to crash, but regardless, it's been an impressive run by the Blue Jays to now get back into the playoff picture.
Both teams have been involved in plenty of high-scoring affairs of late, but I think Tuesday's contest sets up as a lower-scoring "DUEL."
The Rays go with Drew Rasmussen, who is 2-1 with a 3.25 ERA and who gave up one run over five innings in a victory over the Red Sox on Tuesday.
Over 61 innings of work he owns a sharp 65:25 K:BB.
He'll be opposed by Jose Berriors (11-7, 3.52) who enters having won three straight, most recently allowing two runs with eight strikeouts over seven innings over the Yanks on Thursday.
Over his last three starts Berrios now owns an incredible 26:2 K:BB.
Look for these two red hot and in form starting pitchers to garner most of the headlines in tomorrow's summaries.
