This is a 10* TOP TOTAL on the OVER Rangers/Blue Jays.
This is an interesting matchup, but it's one that's going to produce plenty of runs in our opinion.
Both teams come into this year with aspirations. The Rangers are looking to improve upon their record from last year in which they lost 102 games:
"When you're a 100-loss team, you're not going to get a discount," said Jon Daniels, Rangers president of baseball operations. "These guys didn't grow up down the block, either. You have to demonstrate that you have a plan and that you want to spend accordingly. We knew the guys we wanted and ownership was on the same page and gave us the confidence to say it publicly."
Texas signed sluggers Semien and Seager, so we'll see an improvement.
The Jays landed a few big names as well and their line-up is one of the most stacked in the league.
Sonny Gray though was just 8-12 with a 4.59 ERA in 29 starts for the Rockies last year. He'll be in tough here on the road.
Jose Berrios was 12-9 with a 3.52 ERA in 32 starts last year. While he's 2-1 in his career in five career outings against the Rangers, he does have ballooned 5.47 ERA to go along with it.
We expect this total to fly well OVER the number as the game comes down the stretch.
