We're expecting a bit of a slugfest here between the hungry 2-4 Minnesota Twins and the equally as famished 3-3 Red Sox.
This is the first of four games between the teams and everything points to a slugfest here.
Boston comes in off a 9-7 win over Detroit and I say it keeps the good times rolling at the plate after finishing with a season-high 12 hits.
The Red Sox hand the ball to Nick Pivetta, who did not look great in his debut against the Yanks, allowing four runs over five innings, including two home runs. Pivetta has struggled against Minnesota despite a 1-0 record, allowing 15 hits and seven earned runs over nine innings against.
The Twins just got swept by the Dodgers. Joe Ryan gets the call for the visitors. This is his seventh ever Major League start. He lost against the Mariners last Friday, allowing two runs off two hits over four innings.
I say the rookie struggles here in this difficult venue, but I also expect the determined Twins to bounce back at the plate here against Pivetta.
