Two teams in need of a win. Two pitchers in need of a good performance.
Both sides have been playing to some higher-scoring affairs of late, but I expect those trends to end toda in the opener of this AL series.
The Royals hand the ball to Daniel Lynch (1-1, 5.40 ERA), while the White Sox counter with Dallas Keuchel (1-1, 15.00).
The Royals got swept by the Mariners over the weekend and have lost four straight. The White Sox have lost seven straight, including getting swept in back-to-back series.
Lynch actually enters off a great outing against the Twins on Wednesday, going five shutout innings.
Keuchel comes in off one of the worst starts of his career, allowing ten runs over 1 1/3's innings vs. the Guardians on Wednesday.
I say Keuchel bounces back for sure here vs. the soft-hitting Royals. It's a perfect opponent to face after a "dud" like that.
Keuchel will be motivated by the fact as well that he's 6-4 with a 3.21 ERA in 14 starts vs. KC.
This number has now creeped a bit too high, the play is the UNDER.
