The Dodgers have seen the total go UNDER the number in three straight after taking three of four from Colorado over the weekend. That includes yesterday's 7-3 victory.
Note that LA has seen the total go OVER the number in five of its last seven after playing to three or more straight UNDERS in a row.
San Francico took three of four from the Cubs over the weekend, and three of those four games went UNDER the number, including their 4-0 victory here last night.
Both teams have been playing to several lower-scoring games of late, but we're expecting those trends to end here this evening finally.
The visitors hand the ball to Andrew Heaney (1-0, 0.47 ERA), while the home side counters with Logan Webb (9-4, 2.91.)
The Giants went into the all Star break having won five of six, but in their first series back they'd go on to get swept by the Dodgers in four straight.
It's been a small sample size for Heaney so far this season. Obviously he's been really sharp, but we feel that regression is now imminent. These sparkling numbers are unrealistic and unsustainable, especially considering that he finished 3-3 with a 6.55 ERA over the second half of the season last year.
Webb has been solid for San Francisco and it's difficult to say too many negative things about him. This is just a case of the second year pro being in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
