The Mariners are off a 3-2 loss at Houston. We're expecting another competitive battle today as well from the visiting side.

The Yanks enter off an 8-6 loss to the Royals last night.

New York hands the ball to Domingo German (0-1, 8.22 ERA) to start, while Seattle counters with Marco Gonzalez (6-10, 3.66.)

German steps into the rotation for New York to replace the injured Luis Severingo. German has been terrible so far, allowing seven runs off 11 hits spanning 7 2/3's innings of work.

Gonzalez has pitched MUCH better than his win/loss record would indicate, as he's conceded two earned runs or fewer 15 times this year, including in his most recent outing when he allowed two runs over seven frames in a victory over the Rangers on Wednesday.

Seattle has done well against every teams it's faced that's not named the Houston Astros of late. We think Gonzalez and the Mariners have much more than just a "punchers chance" in this one.
