This is a 10* TOTAL BOOKIEKILLER on the OVER Reds/Marlins.
Both teams have been playing to several lower-scoring games of late, but we're expecting those trends to end in a big way this evening.
The Reds have seen the total go UNDER in three straight, including in their first two victories of this series, 3-1 and then yesterday by a score of 2-1.
The Marlins have seen the total go UNDER in three of their last four, and in two straight. They've also lost five straight, which is significant to note in our case, as Miami has seen the total go OVER the number in eight of its last 11 after playing to five or more straight UNDERS in a row.
Miami has to be liking its chances for a bounce-back performance here against the Reds' Mike Minor, who is 1-7 with a 6.31 ERA (he's even worse on the road with a 6.56 ERA.)
The Marlins counter with ace Sandy Alcantara, who is 9-4 with a 1.99 ERA. Difficult to say anything negative about Alcantara, but I don't expect the Reds to simply roll over here with a chance to earn a rare series sweep. I look for the visitors to plate a few runs here today as well, but there's no way I'm laying this large home price obviously.
As far as the total is concerned, all signs point to this one flying OVER the posted number sooner, rather than later.
