This is an 8* SITUATIONAL SLUG-FEST on the OVER Cardinals/Diamondbacks.
Arizona has seen the total go UNDER in seven straight, but I expect these lower-scoring trends to end this evening. I've had the "over" in each of the Diamondbacks last two games unfortunatley. After dropping the first two games in San Francisco, Arizona comes to town off two straight victories, including last night's 5-0 shutout.
But that's significant to note here in this case for us, as note that the Diamondbacks have in fact seen the total go OVER the number in seven of its last ten off a shutout road victory in its previous outing.
St. Louis enters having won four stright. It's seen the total go OVER in three of its last four, including in its 13-0 home win over Colorado last night.
Look for the Cardinals to keep the good times at the plate rolling here in the desert.
The St. Louis offense is on fire, which is bad news for Tommy Henry, who is 2-1 with a 4.15 ERA for Arizona. He's won his last two outings, but his fourth career start is clearly going to be a difficult one here, as the rookie gets thrown to the wolves on Friday night.
Miles Mikolas is 9-9 with a 3.44 ERA for the Cardinals. He's been hit or miss of late and has been much better at home (5-2, 2.47 ERA), than on the road (4-7, 4.82.)
The situation and the numbers/trends are all pointing to this total flying OVER the posted number sooner, rather than later.
