Both teams have been playing to several higher-scoring games of late, but we're expecting those trends to end this afternoon.
The Reds have seen the total go OVER the number in three of their last four, including in both games so far here in Pittsburgh. That includes their 10-1 victory yesterday.
The Pirates enter having seen the total go OVER the number in six straight games, which is now signficant for us to note, as despite yesterday's high-scoring blowout loss, Pittsburgh has seen the total go UNDER the number in eight of its last 11 after playing to five or more straight OVERS in a row.
Mike Minor is only 1-10 with a 6.31 ERA for Cincinnati, but clearly the veteran catches a break here facing the Pirates' 28th ranked offense, which averages only 3.62 RPG.
