These teams have been involved in some lower-scoring games of late, but we're expecting those trends to end this evening.
The Twins have now seen the total go UNDER the number in six straight games, while losing four in a row as well. That includes in yesterday's series opening 4-2 setback here.
The Astros had seen the total go OVER four straight before yesterday's lower-scoring victory.
Houston though averages 4.59 RPG. The Astros face the Twins' Dylan Bundy, who is 7-5 with a 4.60 ERA this season. Bundy has been significantly better at home though (4-1, 2.69 ERA), than on the road (3-4, 5.85) this year.
The home side counters with Framber Valdez, who is 12-4 with a 2.72 ERA. Interestingly, his ERA rises to 3.53 at home this season.
Can't say too many negative things about Valdez, as he's been super solid across the board this year. This is just a case of the second-year pro being in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
The overall situation points to this total flying OVER the posted number sooner, rather than later.
