This is an 8* SLUG-FEST on the OVER Guardians/Mariners.
Both teams have been playing to several lower-scoring games of late, but we're expecting those trends to end this evening.
The Guardians have seen the total go UNDER the number in four straight, including in their 7-0 win at San Diego last night. But that's significant to note here though, as Cleveland has seen the total go OVER the number in seven of its last ten coming off a shutout road victory.
The Mariners have seen the total go UNDER the number in three of their last four after falling here 3-1 to the lowly Nationals yesterday.
Perhaps Seattle was caught looking ahead to this series with the Guardians.
Both starters have been decent this year, this is just a case of each being in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
Triston McKenzie is 9-9 with a 3.11 ERA for the Guardians, while Marco Gonzalez is 8-12 with a 4.08 ERA for the Mariners.
McKenzie is interestinly 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA in two career starts covering just five frames vs. the Mariners.
Look for these two guys to get chased early and for this total to fly OVER the posted number sooner, rather than later.
