This is an 8* TOTAL BLOWOUT on the OVER Texans/Bears.
Both teams are hungry for a win, and for a break out performance on the offensive side of the ball. Scoring is down around the league, and I think the oddsmakers are overreacting a bit on a few different games. This is one of those.
The Texans are out to rebound from a listless 16-9 loss to the Broncos. Over two games QB Davis Mills has thrown for 417 yards and two touchdowns. Brandin Cooks leads the Texans with 11 grabs for 136 yards as well this season.
Houston has looked "OK" defensively, but I believe this unit will have its hands full here vs. this determined home side.
The Bears are out to rebound as well here after a 27-10 loss at Green Bay. So far Chicago QB Justin Fields has 191 passing yards, two touchdowns and two INT's. David Montgomery has 148 rushing yards.
What's the golden rule in Football over the first couple weeks? To not over-react. If given just a cursory "eye test" here, it'd be easy to just choose the 'under' here.
But when digging a little deeper into it situationally, I think we'll see a very wide-open game here from each side.
I've always believed that lop-sided numbers and trends have a way of naturally correcting themselves. Over the short, the mid and the long-term. Look for these early "under" numbers to start correcting in Week 3.
This number is a little low in my estimation, so the play is the OVER.
