This is an 8* SITUATIONAL SLUG-FEST on the OVER Brewers/Reds.
Both teams have been playing to several lower-scoring games of late, but I expect those trends to end this evening.
The Brewers jave seen the total to UNDER in two straight, including in yesterday's 5-1 series opening win here.
The Reds have seen the total go UNDER in six straight. Note though that the Reds have seen the total go OVER the number in seven of their last ten after playing to five or more straight UNDERS in a row.
Eric Lauer is 10-7 with a 3.91 ERA for the Brewers. Lauer will be on a "short leash" here today as he makes his return from the IL for his first start since September 7th. He's a pedestrian 3-4 with a 4.01 ERA in ten career starts vs. the Reds.
Mike Minor is 4-12 with a 6.06 ERA for Cincinnati. He was most recently shelled for five runs over three innings in a 5-1 loss to the Cards on Saturday (which included a whopping five walks conceded.)
Look for these two starter to get the "hook" early and expect this total to fly OVER the posted number sooner, rather than later.
